Calculating the cost of SME credit

SME lending is currently unregulated. As a result, there is no requirement for commercial finance providers to disclose the annual percentage rate (APR) of their products.

This makes it hard for SMEs to compare the cost of credit, and means that many businesses are actually paying a lot more than they think. At Growth Street, we believe that finance should be fairly priced and the costs transparent.

We have therefore built this comparison tool to help SMEs discover what price they are paying, compared to a GrowthLine facility with Growth Street.

About Growth Street

If you need a fast, simple and fairly priced working capital solution for your business, Growth Street can provide you with a revolving credit facility to meet your business’ needs. We do this by matching borrowers and lenders via a marketplace to ensure the lowest cost of finance for our borrowers.

What is this tool about?

Our customer base of small and medium sized businesses has highlighted a number of issues and challenges they face regarding what they actually pay for credit. This tool estimates the APR and Total Cost of Credit for common provider and platform SME finance combinations, and compares them against a facility from Growth Street. This tool is intended to provide an estimate, but we are always prepared to provide a bespoke price comparison – please get in touch
