Instagram has yet to fully roll out their advertising functionality for small businesses in the UK, but here is a bit of what you can expect.

Businesses will be able to choose from three Instagram Adverts formats:

Photo Ads: Photo adverts gives your businesses a clean, simple canvas to tell your story through stunning imagery.

Video Ads: Videos give extra depth to your photo adverts, as it appeals to the audience’s sense of sounds and motion, not just sight. You will be able to share videos that are up to 60 seconds long and in landscape format.

Carousel Ads: Businesses opting for carousel adverts have the opportunity to showcase several photos whilst presenting a call to action button to lead customers to your website.

There will be increased analytics and insights for Instagram, similar to what is available for Facebook ads, allowing you to test and measure how your ads are performing.

Finally, you will be able to use the boost functionality directly from the app, allowing you to increase the visibility of the posts.

With an extensive range of media at your disposal, take your time to understand the communities you can get involved in. Learn from what they are posting; you never know who may influence the content for your next advert!
